    UNLEASH Mediasite User Conference

With registration climbing, UNLEASH 2012 is poised to be the biggest and best Mediasite User Conference yet. And we’re ready for it with the best lineup of sessions for your webcasting success – nearly 40 of them across three breakout tracks!

Expect speakers to share specific tips and tricks behind their organizations' successful webcasts, deployments, integrations and business strategies that you can apply when you return home. More than half of all UNLEASH sessions are presented by users like yourself, meaning the practical advice and fresh insights you take away will give you the edge in your own Mediasite implementation.

I’m incredibly excited about the lineup for this year’s user conference and thank the generous Mediasite users and fans who will share their expertise with the Mediasite Community May 7-9 in Madison, Wisconsin.

If you haven’t registered yet, there’s still time – UNLEASH registration is open through April 20. Can’t join us in Madison this year? No worries. Participate from anywhere and save on travel with an UNLEASH Online pass.

We look forward to seeing you in May!

Spring break is almost here, and if you’re anything like us, you’re just itching to hit the beach. That means it’s also time to start thinking about digging the sunscreen and tanning products out from the back of your cabinets.

Need a refresher course? Here’s a Mediasite corporate webcast from Australian Gold about some of this year’s new products. Even if you aren’t headed to a sunny destination, the colorful summer slides are sure to put you in a better mood.

Click here to view the webcast.

But be careful out there! Sandia National Laboratories’ used Mediasite for the online training program, “Keeping Your Skin Healthy.” It’s got great tips for protecting yourself from the sun’s rays and keeping your skin in top shape.

Have a fabulous time outdoors, whether you’re traveling or staying close to home!

Can you feel it? There’s something in the air today – it’s festive with the scent of nachos and chicken wings. There’s more fist-pumping than usual. People are lobbying to have this weekend be declared an official holiday. All of this can only mean one thing – March Madness is underway.

Many of the schools on the brackets are near and dear to us at Sonic Foundry – not necessarily for what they’ve accomplished on the court – but for what they’ve accomplished using Mediasite in the classroom. From the largest installations like North Carolina State, to the respected business schools at Georgetown and Temple, and others like St. Mary’s, which use classroom technology in the most cutting-edge ways.

All totaled nearly 30 Mediasite schools are represented in the first round of 64. We’ll be rooting for them.

Back by popular demand at this year's Mediasite User Conference, UNLEASH 2012, are the always energizing, information-packed Pecha Kuchas.

Not familiar with Pecha Kucha? This short form presentation type challenges presenters to share their most important ideas in exactly 6 minutes and 40 seconds using 20 auto-advancing slides, each shown for 20 seconds. Whew! This TED-style short form session is both engaging and memorable, but is not for the fly-by-night presenter as it does take a bit of preparation. I applaud the 10 courageous and confident presenters stepping up to the Pecha Kucha mic this year. Judging by the variety of webcasting topics they will share, we're in for treat!

    Pecha Kuchas - May 8

Controlling the #1 Human Phobia or How to Get the Best from the Petrified Presenter, Terry Wirkus, University of Wisconsin - La Crosse
4 Project Managers, 3 Semesters, 2 Products and 1 Very Long Pilot, Leif Nelson, University of Wisconsin - Green Bay
Mediasite Mythbusters: Tall Tales or True?
From Hosted to High Availability in 12 Months, Ullrich Grimm-Allio, Goethe University
These Are Our Mistakes: So Go Get Your Own - Revisited!, Larry Evans, NC State University

    Pecha Kuchas - May 9
